The AAO’s Annual Session is the world’s largest continuing education opportunity in orthodontics, offering dozens of presentations on current research and trends by leaders in the specialty. This conference, which draws members from around the world, is traditionally offered in late April or May. In addition to the continuing education opportunities, you can explore the expansive Exhibit Hall that features companies dedicated to the delivery of orthodontic treatment. Moreover, each February, AAO features a conference on a topic of critical clinical or practice interest.
For a nominal fee, you can subscribe to distance learning lectures for you and your staff. A subscription will give you and your staff access more than 135 hours of distance learning lectures, available online at at any time on the AAO member Web site. When you become a member of the AAO, you also gain free access to the online version of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJO-DO). Through the AAO member Web site, you can purchase an online exam to earn three CE credits for each issue.
The AAO maintains the world’s largest dental specialty library. The library has journals and other reference materials available exclusively to AAO members. Most journal articles can be sent via email. A full time librarian stands ready to assist you in locating the materials you need.
Stay up to date on news about orthodontics and advances in the specialty through AAO publications. Members receive a complimentary subscription to the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJO-DO), a $385 value. This monthly publication features current clinical knowledge and trends in orthodontics. The award winning newsletter, The Bulletin, covers developments within the AAO and the specialty in general.
