Invisalign has begun notifying doctors who use its product of its updated proficiency requirements for 2010. Invisalign has shared these requirements with the AAO.
Invisalign-trained doctors who had 10 case starts and completed 10 hours of Align- sponsored CE credit during 2009 will retain active customer status for 2010 and will be awarded the designation “Preferred Provider.” Any doctor who did not meet these requirements, but who had at least one 2009 case start and one CE credit will be placed into a one-time, six-month qualification period to determine whether he or she wishes to continue with Invisalign and meet the proficiency requirements. Invisalign customers who have not completed at least one case start and one CE credit during 2009 will be notified of the deactivation of their accounts, but will retain access for any patients currently in treatment.
Invisalign is making additional details available via a dedicated Web site.
